Shifting Time
Today we seem to want to escape reality and revert to the past. The youth are being overloaded with constant technology and missing the less technologically overloaded times of when playing a CD was how we listened to music. This time however has become a thing of the past and will never again be our true reality. This series focuses on the passing of time specifically thru long exposures and on the idea of lost reality due to the fact that the images cannot be replicated. The past time no longer exists.
The images rely heavily on motion and color from this simple idea of a CD. This throwback of technology, i.e.e the CD, which creates rainbows when light reflects off it, drives the color scheme of the series. Not only did it influence the colors but also CD's create motion, motion thru sound waves and motion within oneself while dancing to the beats. The youth seem to be the ones influenced by the music, hence the youthful mood and dancing movements found throughout the images. The series throws it back to escape our reality and distort what we knew or what we know as being our past time.
All images created were done within camera making the current present the past.
